more christmas cards

I hope everyone is having a good weekend, finished acouple more cards, I'm on a roll now! lol

still working on few christmas projects, I am almost done. :)

I purchased a bunch of christmas stickers last year and never used it, so this year I decided to use them. the silver snowflakes and sentiment are rub ons.



Here's another birthday card that I have finished....one more to finish up and to continue to make more christmas cards. Hope everyone is having a stress free holiday, I have purchased 2 gifts so far, but I do not feel stress, I am trying to enjoy the holiday and not make it so hectic. Have a great weekend!

birthday card

My mom's birthday is coming and of course, she will be 60, wanted to make a nice card for her, hope she likes it. I've been quite a few card for december, almost done with the others and will post once I get them done, but this is also an oxford impression image with k and company stickers.

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! We made it back safely from our travels and always greatful when we don't hit traffic. A few christmas cards that I have made over the weekend, all images are from the new oxford impressions, I love them.

Okay, my youngest son Jared did not want me to buy him a halloween costume, so he went as a baseball player! I have to laugh because he's eight and acts like his older brother, he wanted to be a scary halloween creature and I would not allow him so I have no pictures of him because I have so many pictures of him with his uniform......but my sister sent me this picture of my cute baby niece, Isn't she the cutest bunny! I just want to squeeze her!

Artchix stamps

Audrey inspired me to pull out my new artchix stamps and created acouple atc's and a quick birthday card.....my sister had ask me to make Marley a christmas stocking, of course I said yes! what was I thinking? I have to pull out the sewing machine and actually make a stocking template!

western stamps

The one good thing about being stuck in my own home, I can make some cards. These are from oxford impressions, I started this last night and finished it this morning. The stars were silver and I embossed it with Tim Holtz's walnut ink embossing powder. Has anyone started on christmas? I pulled some stamps out, but I am not motivated yet....if anyone has please post them, thanks for looking.

encaustic art

Okay, a break from halloween stuff....so I started to pulling out my encaustic (wax) tools. I wanted to make some background images and so I pulled out my wax stuff and mixed colors and different type of tips and this is what I ended up with. it is alot of fun, it's alittle messy though because your working with hot wax.

One of my good friend from Virginia is moving to Louisiana, so I made this card for her. I will miss her.

Another halloween card, I'm stuck in my office, construction everywhere in my home. I think I'm done making halloween cards.....maybe one more! LOL

Another halloween bag I have made, their so much fun to make, love putting fabrics together, but I don't like the sewing part!

first of all I want to thank my good friend Jen for my new blog banner, didn't she do a great job? thanks Jen!! I did this last year, Wendy made me an art journal book and I haven't done anything since last year......I guess I need to do another halloween page LOL!

Halloween Cards

My Craftroom

I have come to conclusion that my craftroom will never be tidy or super organized. I have too many unfinished projects in it. I am pleased to say that I built the long cabinet with the counter top myself. I purchased the wall organizer from a scrapbook store that was going out of business in my area, I cut it in half and hung it above the wall cabinets. Sometimes I look at all of what I have purchased and have collected over the years and get overwelmed, does it stop me from buying? NEVER!! lol (especially stamps, can never have enough of that)

I'm getting into the halloween spirit, I made these domino charms last night and I had fun making them. I wish there more hours in a day, I do have several more halloween projects that I'm working on. I hope I can get it done and post before I move out. I don't plan on moving any of my stuff, maybe afew stamps and paper?LOL

My last day in Texas and I did a few photos shots of Marly (about 200) this one is one of my favorite picture, I will have to upload a few more pictures of her that I really like, I'm using my sisters computer and her programs are alittle different from mine, it's a bit difficult to download pictures. It has been a quick 10 days for me but I will be glad to be home tomorrow. I will miss Marly very much.

I had also visited a few scrapbook stores, one in particular called Archivers, I guess their big in the west and midwest area. I had forgotten that Texas has an 8% tax and not to mention that they were a bit over priced, I purchased over 60.00 worth of paper. I will have to put them to good use and not waste any of them.

Sorry, no artwork today, I felt like blogging my kids today, we drove out to the beach the other day and had taken some pictures, sometimes it good to focus on the simple blessings and thankful that my kids are content.

I hope everyone is having a good summer, I have been busy with the kids and also living at the beach, I find that I don't get much done during the summer, I managed to get some of the unfinished projects done around my office. Above is a project I started a year ago, I was going to send it to somerset and of course the deadline passed, oh well, maybe next year? It's just a black canvas bag that I purchased from Michaels and embellished it with a vintage photo that I bought from ebay, some fabric, and layered some buttons on the side. a small pin with a stamped witch and charm was added on the handle of the bag. Sorry the picture is so big when you click on it, I forgot to reduce the size!

Another unfinished project that I just finished making. I have reupholstered the chair above. I should've taken a before and after shot, but I forgot. It used to be an orange chair, and I recovered it with a chocolate microfiber fabric. didn't it turn out cute? I did not do the cushions though, I did not want to sew the piping (too much work).

I have family coming for the next several weeks and I will be going to Texas to visit my little sister for a week(I'm excited to see her and her family) So thanks for looking, and hope you all have a safe summer.

Look what I got in the mail today! Wendy sent this card to me today and its the front cover of stampers sampler, I am honored!

I've been substituting in my son's school for the last few days and I haven't had time to create, so last night I did alittle bit of transparency art, I love the fact that you can color the image and get a different affect on the card. Ive used this image quiet a few times, she's just the cutest girl.
I came home this afternoon to see the stamper sampler on my counter! Last year I sent them 5 cards and they published them all! I know, the little things in life does get my excited.

My friend Wendy made this beautiful book, it has many pockets, a place to journal and picture frames inside. Its a great little book, so I decided to make one.
This is my version of the book, I am 95% done, waiting for a few things to come in so I can finish up the book.

Isn't she a cutie pie! I love her little asian face! She has so much rolls, I could eat her! My sister made me cry before she left for Texas, she asked Rob and I to be Marleys godparents. I was overjoyed and I am so proud of my little sister, she has accomplished alot and has done well for her self.

I had fun making this little book. Anything with Paris is so much fun to do. One day, I would like to visit Paris and take lots of pictures and go to flea markets and just see the eiffel tower.

It's been awhile since I've posted, I guess I have been busy with both boys starting baseball and me trying to finish up my office. My office is almost done, but not quite yet. I made these cards over the weekend, trying to get in the creative mode again. Do you ever get in a funk and creative juices just don't wanna come out? I've been feeling that way for awhile now and I can't seem to get out of it. auugghh!!

It has been along time since I have scrapped anything, but since my sister had her baby, I told her I would do a small album for her, this is the first layout I have done, I am attempting to do alittle bit of digital scrapbooking, I have not mastered it yet. but I did download the word "sweet" a freebie from Jennifer Wellborn's blog. The color is alittle bright, but it works.

My wonderful husband threw me a surprise birthday party yesterday and I was greatful for all the wonderful gifts I received (even when he said no gifts) so today I made these quick thank you cards. I am posting them because I bought the blank pokadotted cards from the $1.00 bin from Michaels and they're great for making quick cards and you get 10 cards with envelopes!
